Commonly known as Kembong, this fish is actually the Indian Mackerel found in the Indian and West Pacific waters and is part of the mackerel family. It is popular local household fish, and is usually pan or deep-fried, served with chilli sambal on the side.
The flesh is moist, silky and has a distinct flavour.
